Lil Wayne’s Rebirth Leaked by Amazon

After a shipping error on Amazon, it was found that 500 Lil Wayne fans received his highly anticipated album Rebirth two months before it was actually supposed to be shipped.

The album, which has been one of the most anticipated releases since it was announced, was meant to be released in early February. Some of the fans who pre-ordered the album were able to get their copy early. Amazon sent those copies out on its previous release date, which was December 15. (WOW Amazon is dumb)

As a result, Rebirth has been posted on various websites for bootlegging purposes. Wayne has not made a comment about this incident as of yet.

Timbaland Claims To Be “Done With Hip Hop”

Super producer Timbaland, known initially for his contributions to Hip Hop, says that he’s done with the genre.

“After my last album, I know where my bread and butter is at,” explained the producer, whose latest album features contributions from pop acts such as Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, to MTV News. “I know 75 percent [of the people who buy my album] are women who love Timbaland and most are the women who watch Desperate Housewives and all those others. I did this research. It’s the women who watch Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives — all the real go-to-the-bar women like Timbaland, and mostly European women. It lets me know that my fanbase is mostly women and they are from all cultures. So it’s not a person who loves mostly Hip Hop. It’s a person who loves everything besides Hip Hop.”

Known for his innovative and always-evolving sound, Tim says that it’s not only the almighty dollar that’s driven him to this decision – he’s also not impressed with the Hip Hop music of today. “I was done with hip-hop a long time ago,” he said. “Once my generation left, I left. I do it, but there’s nobody from my generation besides Jay who’s doing it. I look at Lil Wayne as being from my generation. Some people are still acceptable. Kanye is acceptable from my generation.

“It’s just not the same. By it not being the same, I kind of fade to black. I did music [on this album] that fits where I was going to in my age bracket. ‘What does Tim listen to in his car all the time?’ I love ’80s music. So how do I infuse ’80s with modern-day music? You Timbo the King, you gotta figure it out. I figured it out a couple of years ago with Nelly [Furtado] and Justin and myself. We had a tremendous run. I think it was good for me to do it that, because some people would say ‘Tim is cold.’ The same people who smile in my face would be the same ones to talk behind my back. But I got this run, I’m not gonna stop until I wanna stop.”

As for Timbaland’s immediate musical future, the producer says that if the success of his latest LP, Shock Value 2, is anywhere close to the first, he’ll release a third for free.

Game Feels Sorry For 50

Game recently talked about 50 Cent’s new “Before I Self Destruct” album and it’s first-week sales. Referencing his recent freestyle diss of Suge Knight, Game talked about not name-dropping the G-Unit general. “I don’t apologize for sh*t, all I did was a freestyle,” he explained in an interview. “If anybody takes it to the heart like they gotta do something about it, then just do that…D*mn, did I say something about everyone but 50? F*ck. I am almost done with 50 Cent shots, I mean at this point, he is shooting himself. I mean for a guy to sell 10 million records his first time out and then to come back out and do 160,000 in the first week three albums later is a catastrophe.”

Game continued by saying he pities 50. “I really feel for him at this point. If he needs my help, then I will help him out and say his name a couple more times to help him float. I really feel bad about his first week, and I just want him to feel better about himself. Tell 50, there’s always the next album.”

Esquire Magazine features a “What I’ve Learned” page each month where a celebrity fills in the blanks to pre-written words and statements. In this months issue, 50 Cent sat down to explain why the best hip-hop artist in the world is white, why studios were scared of him because he’d been shot, why Jay-Z is as safe as a politician, and more.

In related news, 50 Cent appeared on the Howard Stern show yesterday (December 9th) where he discussed everything from his financial status to his sexual escapades. Although he avoided certain questions, he did say he could easily physically beat up Jay-Z and Kanye West. The forty-five plus minute interview even featured the G-Unit general showing off his acting skills by crying on demand, make sure you listen to it all!

It’s Fifty, not Fiddy.

My mom chose the lifestyle because she didn’t choose welfare. Every time I seen her, it felt like Christmas. Everything that was nice in my life was gone when she left, and the only people I saw that had nice things were people from the lifestyle. And they’d look at me and go, Why you look like that? Why your shoes run-down?

What led my mom into the lifestyle that got her killed was what led me into the lifestyle: to prevent needing things so much.

If I’d had a choice, I would’ve been a college kid. I would’ve majored in business.

Sometimes you do need to convince yourself through convincing others.

I never saw drug use as a good option. I’d rather have an additional ten dollars than smoke. It wasn’t a decision to not smoke weed. It was a decision to hustle. It was a business decision.

Being shot defines how strong I am. It prepares you for the confusion of being an artist.

The adrenaline doesn’t allow the bullets to hurt as much as being afraid hurts.

Top Selling Artist of the Decade? Eminem

A new report says that Eminem is this decade’s highest selling artist in the music industry beating out such legendary groups as the Beatles and pop acts like Britney Spears. According to the report, Eminem has sold over thirty-two milllion albums in the past decade while The Beatles (who came in 2nd) moved around 30 mill followed by country music stars Tim McGraw and Toby Keith.

Britney Spears took the fifth spot with just under twenty-three million while rock slash rap group Linkin Park lands in 7th and fellow rappers Nelly and Jay-Z came in 8th and 10 respectively.

As far as individual album sales totals, Eminem has two in the top ten (“The Marshall Mathers LP” 10.2, “The Eminem Show” 9.8) while The Beatles’ “1″ album took the top spot with over eleven and a half million.
