Site Launch Imminent

Should be launching the site any time now. Just working out the final kinks and going to get ready to start adding all the media. Updates for 2009

I know its been a while since my last post. I  am currently working on the new design to the site, its coming out pretty damn good so far, so I hope yall cant wait. Since the start of ‘09, me and SHURM been comin wit it hard in the studio. We are around half way done with the first official SHURM release. Thats right, this aint gunne be no mixtape! Following that you can expect to see a couple new mixtapes from a couple other VS artists… Green and Roy Stealth are gunna be droppin their first mixtapes in the next few months. Also, keep your eyes and ears open for the new REI and Faust Legend projects. We got alot in the mix right now. I wanna say thanks to the people who check up on here on a regular basis. Im sure things have been a bit boring on here lately, but thanks for keeping the traffic up. I will keep posting updates on here to keep you all informed as to how v2 is coming out. Here are some features the new site will contain:

1. Monthly MC Battles

Every week I will post a new EXCLUSIVE instrumental, by either myself or an affiliate. Each week, emcees will compete to drop the illest verse on the track. ONE winner will be chosen each week. If the winner chooses, he may come to the studio to lay down the final version if you are local. At the end of every yearly quarter I will release a mixtape with the songs from the battles. Except on the mixtape I will include the runners up, to fill the song out.

2. Beat Making Tips and Tutorials

Still learning to make beats like my boy Green Budz? He gunna love this new section of the site, and Im sure you all will too. In this new section, there will be a vast amount of knowledge to cover. Personally, I use Reason 4.0, so most of the tutorials will be about that. I will also include some basic tutorials for programs like Fruit Loops, Cubase, and maybe even a couple others. There will also be video tutorials. I am going to be producing my own video series, about how I make beats. This will most likely be a weekly segment, going over one aspect of beat making per week. One video I will be doing for example, is how to make a ‘nintendo’ beat. I will show you how to go into an 8-bit track and export the note just right so that you may reorganize them to your liking in Reason. This is a great technique, and saves alot of time and effort while still having stellar resules. I will also be supplying MEMBERS of the site with drum kits, sample sets, and some other useful tools.

3. Tips on Mixing and Mastering

I have experience with a few programs when it comes to this stuff. I have used Cakewalk Sonar, ProTools, and Audition/Soundbooth/CoolEdit. With this experience I hope to give everyone a little help with their mixing and mastering techniques. I have alot of documentation on my computer, so I will most likely allow users to have access to that stuff.

4. Studio Cam (Still being developed)

Weve decided to almost have our own reality show. Whenever SHURM or other VS artists get into the booth, we will be recording the whole session. So expect to see some videos from our studio experiences. Some good, some bad, but Im sure you will learn a thing or two.

5. Member/Fan Section

I am going to be designing a part of the site just for members. Where you can download exclusive new VS tracks, pictures, videos, the whole works. I am going to try to make it so that you can set up your own profile too, that way you can sign up as an artist, fan, or promoter.
